Life can be overwhelming at times, can’t it? Polarization with loud voices from different sides clamoring for your heart. Confusion can set in, leading to chaos both internally and externally. “Which side am I to take?” “Which preference am I to embrace?” It is one thing when those polarizing voices call to us from culture, but it is quite another when they turn contentious within the Church of Jesus Christ. Is unity even possible today? Have churches become so homogenized that they can’t embrace diversity of opinion or preferences within their midst? What hope is there?
