Listen "AUG 27 - CONCERT FRIDAY (Fr Michael)"
Episode Synopsis
In 1638, Allegri composed the "Miserere Mei Deus". It was sung during services traditionally on Good Friday of Holy Week, but only in the Sistine Chapel. The pope forbade anyone from transcribing it, and its exact composition was kept secret for over 100 years. Today we have the privilege to pause and listen to the ancient Psalm and reflect upon the mercy of God.SCRIPTUREPsalm 51GOD MOMENTHave mercy on meMUSIC"Miserere Mei Deus" (“Have mercy on me, O God”) from Psalm 51 composed by Gregorio Allegri
