In Psalm 86:11, David asked the Lord, “Teach me Your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to Your truth!  Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor You.”  David understood that by learning God’s ways and accepting God’s truth—wholeheartedly, he would live a transformed life that would bring glory to God!  In Exodus 33:18-19, Moses asked the Lord “Now show me Your glory.” And the Lord said, “I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you…” God wanted Moses to see, or experience, His goodness!  What should we “see”—or put our attention upon when trouble comes near?  Rom 5:2b, “And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.”  We are to rejoice in the hope of experiencing God’s glory—aka God’s goodness!
