About Jiwanjot Singh Teja:
Jiwanjot Singh Teja , who is Dronacharya Awardee 2022 and President Awardee in Scouting 1998. He is the 1st and youngest Dronacharya Awardee in compound Archery .
He started archery in 1996 under coach Shree Vineet Kumar ji and won first medal for Punjab in Senior National Archery championship, then he won bronze medal in Asia cup for country and various medals at National level.
He was overall topper of batch in NIS diploma course from Kolkata in 2006-07. After joining the National team as coach in 2013 Indian team jumped from 25th rank to top 3 in the world. His student Arjuna Awardee Harvinder Singh won 1st ever medal in Tokyo Paralympic 2020, Gold in Para Asian Games in 2018 & bronze in Para Asian Games 2023.
His student Jyoti Surekha(Arjuna Awardee) won 10 medals in World championships, 3 gold in Asian games 2023, silver in Asian games 2018, bronze in Asian games 2014. Silver medal in world games and dozens of medals in world cups and Asian championships.
He has produced 5 Arjuna awardees. Around 80 of his students are working in government and other departments.
