For today's pregame conversation, Blaine McCormick sat down with Richmond Flying Squirrels infielder Matt Higgins, who joined the team from High-A Eugene about two weeks ago near the end of July. Higgins is from Louisville and stayed in his hometown to play at Bellarmine University, which jumped up to Division I while he was there. In his 2022 season, he was name the ASUN Player of the Year and a Second-Team All-American, and he ended up signing with the Giants that July. Higgins talked with Blaine about playing at Bellarmine, signing with the Giants, coming up to Double-A and more.
