At Native of Ithaca, New York, Brooks Sweet earned All American honors at UMass. He played on two US national teams in 1982 and 1986. Sweet earned best attackman at the 1982 world championships. He shares a diabetes oral history from a athletes prospective. His reflection begin from learning he had diabetes as a high school senior in the 1970s.
