Listen "Chaya: Building and Empowering a Culture of Sustainability"
Episode Synopsis
"If you're not learning anything new, that is the recipe to feeling stuck."Chaya Sabina is not your ordinary high school graduate. Having joined Bye Bye Plastic Bags (BBPB) from an early age, she has always adopted a culture of environmental sustainability in her day-to-day lifestyle. In fact, as she became the leader of Jakarta's BBPB branch, it became her goal to not only spread the word around about sustainability, but also empower others to challenge themselves in making a difference. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as someone who frequently bakes for her friends, she decided to start her own cookie business, Wabi Sabi Cookies. While it has seen tremendous success selling cookies, Chaya makes sure that it is a commitment to always use eco-friendly packaging. In this episode, we talk about the balance between profit and sustainability, overcoming fear of failure, and what youth empowerment means to Chaya.Shoutout to Aziza for helping me co-host this one!
