Your priority is to feed your soul with the Word of God. If you put this off, you are a spiritual sluggard. “Go to the ant, you sluggard. Observe her ways and be wise” (Prov 6:6-11). Putting your eyes on anyone but the Lord Jesus Christ can lead you through a door to doom. “Focus on Him who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross” (Heb 12:2). Lack of self-control and not taking responsibility for your decisions will also lead to doom and gloom. If you are a stumbling block to other Christians, you enter divine discipline. “It’s inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come” (Luke 17:1). You must know Scripture. This is where you get your strength— from using His Word under the power of the filling of the Holy Spirit.
