Prolonged carnality will cause your heart (your mind) to be scarred over and become calloused and hardened. “Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart” (Eph 4:17-20). The Word of God can’t be learned and stored in your soul without the filling and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
