Jesus Christ knew and used Scripture when He lived on this earth as the God-Man. He used doctrinal orientation as a problem-solving device. “Study [the Bible] to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15). The Holy Spirit is the author of truth, He leads us into truth. “God is not the author of confusion” (1 Cor 14:3). When Jesus Christ said, “Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, My yoke is easy and My burden is light” He’s telling you that if you learn His plan—if you understand what he’s telling you—it’s not hard to live the Christian life. It is a stress-free life. We are mandated to acquire the mind of Christ and doctrinal orientation. “Grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 3:18).
