Jake Stein grew up in North Jersey and had the itch for entrepreneurialism early in life. He started creating businesses ("hair-brained schemes") in high school and that interest and passion for business never went away. He learned about venture capitalism in college, dove into that world headfirst, then came out again looking to create more businesses of his own.
