Our guest this week was Tameka Citchen-Spruce. Tameka is an award-winning filmmaker, who also is an activist that
champions the cause of equality, not only in terms of race and gender but also for those who are disabled.

Tameka Citchen-Spruce formed her production company Be Influential Film to tell stories that feature unrepresented communities in an authentic, thought-provoking and engaging way. She won an award for her narrative
short film "Justifiable Homicide" and went on to produce the documentary feature film "My Girl Story" and an episode of the TV Series "ADA Lead on Presents Black Future Month: Legacy Present and Afro-Futurism".Tameka's activism not only shows up in her films but also in her everyday life. Currently, she's the co-director of LEAD, a leadership development program for BIPOC disabled individuals and their parents for the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition and has been recognized for her
activism by several organizations. In the Fall of 2022, she was selected to participate in Unlock Her Potential Mentorship, a program for women of color in entertainment. Her mentor is the social political comedian
and TV Executive Producer W. Kamau Bell.
