Listen "Kevin & Query Full Show 02-23-22"
Episode Synopsis
(00:00 - 22:01) - Jake and Marc get the show started with talk about the Pacers return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight after the All-Star Break. Kevin is still down in Florida. Jake questions if hairsprays still are sold in aerosol cans. Alabama player Brandon Miller played last night, putting up 41 points, despite the story on how he delivered a weapon to a teammate used in a fatal shooting. Does Alabama ignoring the situation and continuing to play someone involved in legal issues put them on a slippery slope? (22:02 - 27:23) - Morning Checkdown (27:24 - 46:10) - Jake talks how certain bands are able to sell out venues but are somehow still no one's favorite band. Talk then transitions to the NFL draft and how certain players have started to shake up the draft order. Now is the time for prospects to start separating themselves about the talking points surrounding them. Jake highlights Will Levis and Anthony Richardson as players who have started to move their numbers simply through chatter amongst the league. The Colts may still be trying to push up for the #1 overall pick. The show then lays out how long it can take a player to truly get acclimated to the level of play they are up against in the NFL. (46:11 - 1:14:19) - The second hour starts off with discussion over the Indianapolis Indians partnership with the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana in order to establish relations between the team and the people their name represents. IU and Purdue are facing off in two days. Is Purdue hitting a wall after losses to Northwestern and Maryland? Indiana also looked exhausted against Michigan State. (1:14:20 - 1:31:23) - Scott Agnes of the Fieldhouse Files calls in to the show to talk about the Pacers return to action tonight against the Boston Celtics. Agnes was in Salt Lake City to watch the All-Star game and enjoyed the experience and seeing both Haliburton and Hield in the three-point contest finals. What will the All-Star weekend look like with Indianapolis next year. Is there a chance that the All-Star game will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium. Ratings were low for this years All-Star game. Agnes says that until elite stars take the game seriously the event will always be a casual watching experience. Should the All-Star game be about determining the home court advantage in the NBA Finals? Agnes thinks the Pacers are going to reset and try to get something out of each game for the rest of the season. (1:31:24 - 1:35:31) - Is Jake going to the Pacers game tonight? How it used to feel when the Celtics came to town. (1:35:34 - 1:58:50) - Zak Keefer of The Athletic and WISH TV calls the show to talk Colts and their current coaching conundrum. Keefer anticipates that Bubba Ventrone will be leaving for Cleveland and Gus Bradley will be the only coordinator to return on the 2023 season. What coaches are currently out there that the Colts can snatch up before the season starts. Bubba finds Cleveland appealing because it was a place where he excelled during his playing career. Ballard's challenge as GM is going to be on if they can take the right QB at the four spot or move up to the first pick and lose future picks. Will the Colts have to settle for signing a bridge quarterback with an offensive line that did not protect their quarterback well last season. (1:58:51 - 2:06:12) - Pop Quiz (2:06:13 - 2:22:37) - Mike DiRocco ESPN's Jacksonville Jaguars reporter closes out the show talking about Jim Bob Cooter, the Colts new offensive coordinator who is coming over from Jacksonville. DiRocco gives a brief summary of Cooter's gameplan as an offensive coordinator and what he will bring from the Jaguars that will be effective for the Colts. Cooter will have a lot to work with in Jonathan Taylor, a more skilled running back than he had to work with in Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence establishing himself last season as well as Doug Peterson's coaching helped establish the Jaguars as the team to beat in the AFC South. The Colts are perceived in Jacksonville as a talented team that can't seem to get the quarterback situation down according to DiRocco. This offseason is their chance to really turn that situation around and change the perception.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/the-wake-up-call-1075-the-fan/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
