Listen "Ethical Impact with Jeroen van Overbeek"
Episode Synopsis
My next guest was recommended by Sam Skrivere from Ministry of Waste, who featured previously on The Ethical Evolution. Her mission to help Indonesia to manage their waste collided with the need to have sustainable clean drinking water - which is where my next guest comes in.
Jeroen van Overbeek is the Founder of Social Impakt, based in Bali, Indonesia. He went from a high flying global corporate career to finding a need to make impact and help others in need. He moved to Bali in 2013 and created Social Impakt with a vision to ensure everyone, everywhere has access to safe and affordable technologies within their homes. The mission is to bring simple, eco-friendly life changing and enhancing technologies like water filters and solar lamps to remote areas and urban centers in Bali and East Indonesia. Social ImpaKt also aims to create micro-business opportunities with these technologies.
A simple water filtration system in a bucket purifies undrinkable water into safe, clean drinking water that lasts for up to 3 years. This initiative and the economical opportunities it creates is saving lives in Indonesia. After tuning into this conversation, I am sure you will want to contribute to Social Impakt and save lives too.
