Listen "Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees on housing, transit, history and Black Lives Matter"
Episode Synopsis
The Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, was elected in May 2016. On that day Bristol became the first major European city to have elected a mayor of black African heritage. During his first term in office he has overseen the building of over 8,000 homes, announced the development of a mass transit system and provided quality work experiences for over 3,500 children who wouldn’t readily have access. He led the successful bid to bring Channel 4 to Bristol and is leading the city’s response to both the climate and ecological emergencies. Rees sits down with Christine Murray for a live interview with questions from the audience as part of the Festival of Place Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
