Episode Synopsis

Cardinal Sarah is speaking specifically to the point that we have lost our awareness of the seriousness of sin and much of this has to do with the inundation of what we talked about in the last episode. Our eyes no longer can find restful areas of darkness. In fact, we have become so use to the light that darkness, that quiet time with God, can feel uncomfortable! I was driving home the other day, and it seemed really odd as I was only a few miles from my house. Everything was so dark and did not seem right. I quickly realized there was a power outage. It seemed almost uncomfortable to be driving through this dark are that is normally lit at night. Getting away from the light and the noise and spending time with God, allows us to see who we are in the light of God. This light is often convicting and purifying. I love adoration in the dark where the only thing that is lit is the monstrance. There, the silence and darkness are very comfortable.
