And this is all due to the King's whim.   What could possibly go wrong?  Furthermore, what happens when you fixate on controlling biology to the point where if you have a daughter, then heads must roll. And yet if you have a boy, he's too sickly to rule...  It seems like to be the kind of king Henry VIII was, you need to live forever and be in control of thousands of cloning vats.
