Listen "Types of AI"
Episode Synopsis
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly growing field that involves the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that would normally require a level of human intelligence. AI can be divided into three main categories: Weak AI, Strong AI, and Artificial Superintelligence. Weak AI, or Artificial Narrow Intelligence, is currently in practical use and is limited in its capabilities. Strong AI, or Artificial General Intelligence, is in the process of proving its value and is constrained by the availability of computing power and the cost of training the models necessary for effective performance. Artificial Superintelligence is still theoretical, being an attempt to recreate the human mind in machine form. AI can be further classified based on different levels of complexity and capabilities, such as Reactive Machines, Limited Memory Machines, Theory of Mind, and Self-Aware. AI is being used in many areas today, such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, virtual assistants, image and facial recognition, Chatbots, business process automation and recommender systems. AI can be used as an ‘Assistive Intelligence’ tool to help make us more productive and create more time for us to extend our unique capabilities. However, there is a mismatch between the pace at which we can adapt to the transformational role of AI compared to the pace at which AI technology is evolving and being introduced, and there are potential risks. If you would like about this topic then please go to the companion article by following the link: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/types-artificial-intelligence-choicemaster
