Listen "459 True Greatness: The Power of Jesus to Serve (Lk 9:37-50)"
Episode Synopsis
Thursday, March 6th: In this episode of The Daily Grind, John Spencer explores Luke 9:37-50, where Jesus demonstrates a radical kind of power—one that heals, restores, and redefines greatness. After descending from the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus steps straight into human suffering, healing a boy that His disciples could not. While the crowds marvel at His power, Jesus reminds His followers that true greatness isn’t about status but about humility and service. The disciples, however, miss the point—arguing about who among them is the greatest. Jesus flips the script, using a child to illustrate that welcoming the least is the path to true greatness. He also challenges their exclusive mindset, teaching that God’s kingdom is bigger than our tribal boundaries. This episode will challenge you to rethink your own view of success and power, inviting you to follow Jesus' example of humble service. Tune in for an inspiring, down-to-earth conversation about what it really means to be great in God’s kingdom!Email me your questions, comments, and suggestions. I'd love to hear from you!
