Listen "The King Who Gives, Not Takes"
Episode Synopsis
In today’s episode of Coffee with the Superintendent, we step into 1 Samuel 8:10–18 where Samuel warns Israel of the cost of choosing a human king over the Lord’s reign. The people longed for security and status, but Samuel reminded them that earthly kings only take—sons, daughters, fields, and freedom. In the New Covenant, we see the contrast in Christ, the King who does not take but gives His very life for His people. We reflect on what it means to trust Jesus as our true King in a world still chasing worldly power.
In the Second Pour, we catch up on a long weekend of birthdays—from alumni to students across multiple grades—and send out heartfelt congratulations. We also look ahead to a full slate of athletics as our soccer, cross country, and volleyball teams face Freedom Christian Academy, with outdoor sports photos happening today. Lunch is breakfast, making it a day filled with both energy and blessing.
