Elizabeth Peters, a labor economist, demographer, and senior fellow at the Urban Institute’s Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population, about the impact of social policy on the structure of the family in the United States and the role that policymakers play in the development of the family unit.
Dr. H. Elizabeth Peters is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute’s Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population and has more than 30 years of experience in social and family policy research. Dr. Peters is currently a professor and scholar-in-residence at the School of Public Affairs at American University and is a member of the Association of Public Policy and Management. Before joining the Urban Institute, Dr. Peters was a professor in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University and was the Cornell Population Center’s founding director.
