Artist Statement:

Often I write about the practice of music: what it means to us, how it changes us. In other pieces, I use the musical elements of poetry–such as internal rhyme, rhythmic stress, consonance, and repetition–to talk about non-musical subjects. All of these poems speak about the needs of the body, which precede language and demand to be expressed.
