On the Conveners today we focus on the topic of Children and Young People’s mental health and wellbeing. Martin Yelling can tell a fascinating story not only of his own incredibly successful athletic career, or his internationally renowned podcast called Marathon Talk, or even the fact he is a qualified teacher and Doctor – today we focus on the fact he is a founder of an incredible charity doing some great work with children and young people.  The charity Martin founded is called Stormbreak and Martin describes why he set it up and the great work it does predominantly within schools. He also explains how he sees the opportunity for our sector to get more involved and contribute to this area of work. Quite frankly, there’s a tsunami of mental health issues our CYP are facing, exacerbated by the pandemic as we will discover during this conversation, and there’s a lot more that we, as a sector, could do. So hopefully Martin will inspire some of you to get in touch and see what you can do to contribute more to this vital cause.
