Today on the Conveners I have a conversation with someone I have been looking forward to getting on the pod for some time, Duncan Jefford from Everyone Active. Everyone Active, as Duncan explains, is now heading towards a £400 million turnover company, with over 230 centres across the UK. Duncan and Everyone Active have been at the forefront of the recent drive to offer more than just fitness through the core membership offer - initially with the Health Hero supported membership, that saw private GP appointments being offered amongst other services, and then in January Everyone Active made the bold move to launch their You+ membership option which Duncan will describe in a lot more detail. He explains thinking behind it and the preparation over many months to lead to this point. We also talk about the rise or not of local authority trading companies and how a large national company strives to deliver a place-based approach.
