Listen "Conscious parenting: Discipline, Sibling Rivalry and Tantrums"
Episode Synopsis
What do you think of when you hear the terms ‘gentle parenting’ or ‘conscious parenting’? That it is just a bunch of parents too scared to say “no” to their child, and letting their kids do what they want, whenever they want, regardless of consequence?
In this episode, I wanted to give you my thoughts behind conscious and gentle parenting. These opinions are my own, and I’m sure they differ from many who follow a similar parenting approach, however I receive countless messages across my social media daily centred around sibling rivalry, tantrums and discipline. How do I actually discipline my three boys, not just theories behind why I do what I do, but what do I actually do in the moment, and how do I handle their rough play, fighting and emotions.
We’ve all had the nights that we look at our sleeping child and think, “I wasn’t the parent I wanted to be today”, and that’s ok. We aren’t supposed to be perfect. Our kids don’t need perfect parents. We are all learning, all improving and we are here to do the work.
I hope some of these thoughts and techniques help you return some calm to the chaos.
