When everything hits at once: deadlines, family emergencies, client needs, and unexpected personal stuff, it’s easy to feel like the only solution is to burn it all down. In this episode, I share what to do when overcommitment leads to overwhelm and how to unravel it without blowing up everything you’ve worked for.
📝 Top 3 Takeaways from the Episode:
Burnout starts with good intentions: Your desire to be helpful and supportive is genuine, but without limits, it can backfire. When you overcommit, you risk dropping the ball and appearing flaky or unreliable, which is the exact opposite of how you want to show up.
Boundaries without flexibility don’t work: While strong boundaries are important, rigid ones can backfire. Learning to pause, prioritize, and renegotiate allows you to recover your time without damaging relationships or your reputation.
Communicate Before You Cancel: Whether it’s a missed deadline or needing to transition a client, how you handle overwhelm matters more than avoiding it entirely. Communicating clearly and offering solutions can build trust, even in the hard moments.
