Tonight on CEP: Your favorite scam-baiter returns with more antics!A Visa fraudster calls me regarding charges on my Amex. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? I call them back on several phones at once, so they can talk to themselves. Things get zany. When they ask for my credit card number, I tell them a few terrible words in Hindi. That throws them for a loop, but they catch on and hang up on me.Foghorn then receives a call from a student loan scammer, so I play with them a bit.I then get a fake email from "Norton" claiming my "McAfee" is out of date! Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? So I call them out on it, and they play along. I keep asking them if Norton/McAfee will protect me from scam callers, and they assure me it will. I then tell them I have popups on my computer and ask if they did it. They claim they cannot do that, so I corner them on it because, well, that's precisely what they do.
