Listen "027 - Dune: Part 2 & Origin"
Episode Synopsis
It's Podcast time again with another fine episode of The Chronicle Film Podcast, with our critics Paul and Clotilde. For episode 027, they will review Dune: Part 2 and Ava Duvernay's Origin.
First up is Origin from director Ava Duvernay (Selma) starring Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson, along side Jon Berthnal. It's actually based on her seminal book "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents" she wrote whilst coping with personal tragedy. The unspoken system that has shaped America and chronicles how lives today are defined by a hierarchy of human divisions.
The second and final review is much anticipated sequel to Denis Villeneuve's Dune, Dune: Part Two. Based of the Frank Hebert's epic science fiction novels, following the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators
who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavours to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. Paul now living on Arakis and living with the Fremen. His nightmares and visions seem to be increasing of his prophesized future. Timothee Chalamet is Paul starring alongside Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Dave Bautista, Léa Seydoux with Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.
