He’s specifically talking about Jerusalem and how this holy place frequently doesn’t live into its reputation. But broadly, he’s speaking to us – we’re often unwilling to be called together and cared for by Jesus, choosing to go our own way. There is grief in what Jesus shares – he wants to care for us, he wants to call us together, he wishes it wasn’t like this.
