If I were to ask you to describe the YMCA, my guess is you would either sing a pop song or imagine a really nice gym. Odds are you would describe a place with a physical building that had something to do with workout machines or a pool. But in Chattanooga we have a very unique branch of our local YMCA, the J.A. Henry Community YMCA. It doesn't have a brick-and-mortar location. It doesn't have elite workout equipment or an incredible kids play area. Rather this decentralized branch is located throughout the community, operating in nearly every neighborhood throughout Chattanooga. As a result, this branch has an unusual approach to help our community solve some of its greatest challenges when it comes to youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living.
