When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she quickly learned that even though she was thoroughly familiar with the cancer treatment process, she was totally unprepared to deal with cancer as a patient.After her diagnosis, she searched for a resource that would provide information, especially for the emotional turmoil she was experiencing. When she couldn't, a seed was planted, and years later, she was inspired to write the book. She provides not only the medical perspective of what is happening, she also weaves in her own experience.
