Dr. Joe Serio holds a Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Behavior.
He is President of Government Leadership Training, a training company delivering a wide range of leadership and wellness programs to a variety of county and municipal government agencies. He was recently commissioned to develop a leadership academy for government agencies.
He is the author, co-author, editor, or translator of 20 books including 1) Time Management: 50 Lessons on Finding Time for What’s Important; 2) Overcoming Fear: 50 Lessons on Being Bold and Living the Dream; and 3) Being Resilient: 50 Lessons on Leaving Chronic Stress Behind.
In his former life, he was the only American to work in the Organized Crime Control Department of the Soviet National Police.
Later, he was director of the Moscow office of the world’s leading corporate investigation and business intelligence firm. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed book, Investigating the Russian Mafia, and has spoken around the world on crime in the former Soviet Union.
His new book is Vodka, Hookers, and the Russian Mafia: My Life in Moscow.
