Both sectors are competing with other sectors within in the UK jobs market and both sectors can be relatively short sighted in their appointment criteria, focusing on relevant experience. There are circa 15,000 people leaving the military each year and the vast majority are looking for worthwhile careers within civilian life. Two sectors that can provide valuable careers for competent people are construction and energy and Mark is joined by James Cameron and Duncan Forde of the Mission Community of charities, which exist to facilitate ex-military successfully joining civilian employment. The interview looks at the opportunities that these people provide their companies and the process for on-boarding this valuable resource.
