Listen "Mark chats to Katherine Evans"
Episode Synopsis
Send a Text - Feedback WelcomeKatherine Evans, owner of “Bold as Brass” and winner of the prestigious “Most Influential Woman in Construction” award in September 2024, talks about what it can be like to be a woman on UK construction sites and the need for better understanding the challenges that they face by all. Katherine expands on the steps that the industry needs to continue to take, to encourage more women to stay within the sector and the opportunities that this will bring. She describes privilege in a manner that can be used by all to understand the consequences of poor privilege and the role that unconscious bias plays in failing site members who may be (even slightly) different to the “norm”. Katherine’s interview is a call to arms for the industry to be more aware of people, to be kinder to them and to enable this through significantly better conversations at all levels within the industry.
