How much of our mental set is truly dictated by the media we consume? How does that affect how we see other people? How much damage is our lack of awareness really doing? Coming to you from Clear Brook High School’s auditorium balcony, we will explore how marginalized groups such as minorities, members of the LGBTQ community, and neurodivergent individuals are negatively portrayed in entertainment and to what extent recent improvements in representation have helped reverse negative stigmas within society. Join us, Chloe Dolby, Farmeen Din, and Arshleen Lakhani, in uncovering the damaging power of subliminal themes in fictional entertainment.
