Episode Synopsis
This episode playfully rambles through: childhood recollections about the dog days of August, the unreliability of memories, the power of the mind, hanging out at a Japanese shrine and wondering if I’ll get struck down by lightning for it, the unspoken rules of Japanese culture and how we foreigners aren’t expected to follow them, the experience of unbalance in the work/play relationship and being grateful for having balance in that in 2021, becoming comfortable in discomfort, musical memories about the Smashing Pumpkins, and musical reflections on the start of the summer 2021 Phish tour, an impromptu comedy bit referencing back to season 1 called “The Downside of Phish,” and ending with factual evidence for why I believe Phish is the greatest American rock band ever and forever more.
