Episode Synopsis

I recently read a memoir written by Vietnam War Vet and former Democratic Senator from Virginia, James Webb. I enjoyed his style of writing and loved learning about life in a military family. This read has given me greater empathy for those families who are constantly on the move, going wherever directed by the military. The stories of his experience in Vietnam and then returning to civilian life are intriguing and a window into times gone by. I also could see that his love of reading really made him into the writer he has become. Bonus info -- I am already reading his war novel, Fields of Fire, which my library did not carry but I was excited to find at a used book shop nearby.
In this episode I also talk about caring for someone with Covid, and talk about what became most important for my own health during that time and how I kept up with personal goals.
