Por: The Backstory

We are The Backstory, a podcast group from the Literacy Fellows at Norfolk Academy. The Literacy Fellows aims to improve local literacy rates in underprivileged children, as well as promote financial literacy within our own members. We strive to educate ourselves about local issues from gentrification and redlining in our area, to how the pandemic has affected local businesses, to why so many of our local schools remain understaffed and undersupplied, and how that affects students' education.
Our goal for this podcast is to share what we learn with the community by discussing these topics, as well as other ideas that come up. Our podcast is made of six students- two seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. We hope to educate our listeners, and to inspire you to be better people and help those around you.
