We live in a time where we have access to so much knowledge and wisdom, but sometimes the things we learn are not beneficial to our faith. Paul addresses these same concerns in the church and even cautions Timothy to keep a close eye on himself and his teachings, as it can have an impact on his salvation and the salvation of others. The same still applies today, we need to be careful on what we believe because it can hinder our faith and confuse others around us. The best way to discern false teachings is to compare it to what God says in the Bible.
