Welcome to a new episode in our series through the Old Testament where we don’t just tell stories, but rediscover God in the light of who He truly is.

Before we step into the inner chambers of the Tabernacle, we must pause at something very significant, something that wasn’t originally part of the Tabernacle: the Bronze Basin.

Israel had just come out of Egypt. They were a people without a temple, an altar, or rituals. They were:

Nomads, unaware of their true identity,
Recently freed from slavery,
Lost, without direction, and without a way to stand before God.

Like a newborn child, free but unformed, they had to first encounter God's love before they could be transformed. The wilderness became their first place of washing. And when the Bronze Basin did arrive, it wasn’t just a washbasin, it was made from the mirrors of serving women, symbolising self-reflection and surrender.

This episode uncovers why cleansing comes after relationship not before and how the Bronze Basin still speaks powerfully into our lives today.
