Listen "Dr. Keith Heggart and Steven Kolber: Empowering Teachers and Democratising Schooling Perspectives from Australia."
Episode Synopsis
Today I have the great pleasure of sharing a discussion that I recently had with Dr Keith Heggart and Steven Kolber. Steven has been a guest on the podcast previously and, among other things, is one of the hosts of The Teacher Takeaway Podcast. Keith is a first-time guest and is a Lecturer in Learning Design at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.
In this discussion, we talked about their recent work Empowering Teachers and Democratising Schooling Perspectives from Australia. This work is a collection of essays and insights from teachers that outlines logistical and ideological challenges faced by educators committed to democracy and discusses innovative ideas and solutions that can be adapted to a wide range of education practices.
