Haarde, Iceland’s Ambassador to the United States (2015–2019); Prime Minister of Iceland (2006-2009); Foreign Minister of Iceland (2005-2006).This event originally took place at the 2021 Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, Iceland and was organized in collaboration with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Arctic Circle is the largest network of international dialogue and cooperation on the future of the Arctic. It is an open democratic platform with participation from governments, organizations, corporations, universities, think tanks, environmental associations, Indigenous communities, concerned citizens, and others interested in the development of the Arctic and its consequences for the future of the globe.
