Holy Ghost and Fire BAPTISM Oh What Water, The Ability To Clean My Soul Apostle E. White    The spirit of the Lord doeth move upon me to write concerning the Lord's baptism so that you might know the truth to the end that your soul may prosper. The God of whom we serve is a spirit and has made us thus through and by the spirit of Christ, therefore we render all things unto him in spirit and in truth. Every soul ordained for the Kingdom of God is baptized by the spirit of the Lord. For this is the Holy Ghost and Fire Baptism of which John spake, signifying the completed course of sanctification and purification by means of water. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the puifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the enternal spirit offered himself without spot unto God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:13,14) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit: by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us ( not the puttong away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the ressurection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. (1 Peter 3:18-22) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (John 15:3) What man is there to think his soul is made clean by water rather than by the spirit of God? For thy observeth the letter and assign water the ability not only to make clean the natural body, but the spiritual soul as well. Careth not that such understanding causeth thee to err as it pertains to the truth. What sayeth the spirit unto thee at this time? Doth thou truly believe the natural body to be the intent for which our Lord and Savior bled and died? Canest thou not see the similtude of the natural body having to be washed with natural water in order to enter into the natural temple, pointing to the spirit body having to be washed with spiritual water in order to enter into the spiritual tabernacle in heaven? For the spiritual baptism of the Lord doeth not only wash thy soul but fill thine heart with joy and gladness. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:37-39
