Episode Synopsis
THE BOOK OF PASSIONS II by Apostle Ezzie White CHAPTER FOUR Who is able to understand this that the Lord has done? He has made me a fighter; for because of death, life is war. I am made hard for the journey. 2 The weak must be carried by the strong or they will be left behind. 3 Upon the shoulders, they resist and despise the strength of the strong. I am weary of the burden. I look unto the Lord for all my help. 4 My life is lived unto the Lordʼs pleasing. I close my eyes and gain strength by meditating on all things real. 5 For the Lord knoweth my mission, he has assigned unto me mine order. 6 How can I not go forward? I am kept by the Lordʼs strength and held up by the might of my God. 7 Why should I succumb to the enemy when I am in victory? I refuse to surrender unto the spirit of fear. 8 I am a warrior and my calling is to the battle. The Lord has taught me to fight, he is become my sword and shield. 9 Oh Lord, why do I speak of these things for there is none that seemeth to care, or any that is desirous of understanding. 10 Many wish upon me mine end. My calling they understand not. Oh, where is my peace? Where is my comfort: is it not in thee oh Lord? 11 I look unto the Lord for all my help, for it is he alone who understandeth all my ways. 12 Often times death make its appeal unto me, but thy knowledge oh Lord keepeth me, and thine understanding take hold of my mind. 13 The Lord has declared unto his servant the end, he has declared even unto me, the end of all things. 14 Who is he that is able to hear and take warning, to see and flee from among the ungodly? 15 Doeth not the blood of the slain run from shore to shore and from sea to sea. 16 For all nations have become the habitations of murderers and deceitful beasts. 17 For they that speak of love towards the Lord, are all hypocrites, they care only to satisfy the lust of their own hearts. 18 Let the herald go forth throughout the land and proclaim the Lordʼs wrath with the sound of a dreadful voice, so that all men might hear and take warning. 19 The adulteress and adulterer walketh about the street without shame. 20 They are held in esteem; the children are hoisted upon the shoulders of their fathers and held in the arms of their mothers for to see the ungodly in their pomp and glory. 21 For they neither walk in the way of the Lord, nor do they seek the righteous path. 22 Shall I not move swiftly against this people, even the whole of the nations; saith the Lord? 23 Have not they decreed within their proud hearts to be gods and refuseth to bow themselves before any, even before him whose hands have created them? 24 Let it be known throughout all the land saith the Lord, that mine eye shall not show pity in the day of wrath. 25 The fatherless and widows I shall fiercely destroy, and shall rip from the womb the newborns. 26 The young shall fall prey unto the plague and throughout all the land shall no healing medicine be found. 27 I shall break the backs of the strong and make fools of the wise and with opened eyes they shall stumble and fall into their graves. 28 For I am the Lord, and have created all things according to my own will and good pleasure, even the ungodly for the day of wrath. 29 Let them who fear my name, be comforted in knowing that their God, even the Lord, is righteous in judgment. 30 For I seeth with the eye of righteousness and do judge the hearts of men. 31 Unto me, sayeth the lord, the blood of the slain crieth for justice, the tears of the children fill their eyes for compassion, the pain of the age yearn for relief, and the heart of the poor doeth plea for mercy. 32 Shall I not answer according to my wisdom? Shall I forebear forever? Shall I not execute vengeance according to my righteousness? 33 Let him of whom I have not created come forth, saith the Lord; that he be not subject unto my authority. 34 If no man can advance, then all men must bow unto me and none needeth not think to escape my judgment. 35 Is there any that can find fault in all of my ways? Have not I commanded all men to love one another after the pattern of mine own heart? 36 Have not I showed unto man the holy path by the spirit of mercy and truth? Have I rewarded without mercy even unto thee the reward of thine own ways? 37 Desireth thou to be recompensed with the evils that are found within thine own heart? 38 Canst thou share with me the throne of righteousness in the midst of the living creatures and of the holy angels? 39 Knoweth thou anything aside from that which I purpose? Canst thou predict thine end of which I have already seen and have also decreed? 40 For thou oh man, is trapped within the vanity of thine own mind and canst not escape the frailness of thy being. 41 All thou seeing is an illusion and thou knowledge is a hindrance unto thine own soul. Yet, I shall be merciful for my namesake. 42 Acknowledge thy ways and repent, and I will come unto thee and make my abode within thy heart. 43 I will lead thee along the path of the just, those with whom I have favored in righteousness. 44 Let him that desire mercy keep still and hear my voice. Let him bring quietness about his heart, for my words are close unto it. 45 Keep pride far from thine heart, for destruction cometh swiftly and shall not be stayed. 46 For the spirit of the Lord doeth speak and by the power of his might shall soon bring all things to past.
