How to Move Your Dreams into Action by Connecting Your Goals to Specific Projects A goal without a project connected to it is just a dream. If you are serious about achieving your goals, you don’t JUST need written goals, you need priorities, projects, and a written plan to accomplish them. How I Set and Achieve Powerful GoalsStep 1. Dream big - allow yourself to dream with the lid off about what is possible for your life. Be bold and write down what you really want. Step 2. Turn your dreams into SMART Goals. Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Time-Based (with a deadline). Step 3. Identify your highest priorities - what is The ONE THING that you could do, such that by doing it, everything else becomes easier or unnecessary? (This question comes from Gary Keller in his book, The One Thing - I highly recommend it). Step 4. Brainstorm projects that will move you toward your goal. Be sure to focus on the key metrics you need to achieve in order for your goal to become a reality. HOW will you generate leads? WHO do you need to reach out to in order to have the connections you need? Step 5. Identify your action steps to complete each project. Estimate how much time each action step will take. Set a deadline for completion of each action step. Step 6: Put blocks of time on your calendar for specific action items for the amount of time you estimated it will take, and label that time block with what you need to accomplish during that time.
