You don’t need to be in the physical, living presence of a Spiritual Master to benefit from their teaching. But you do need to make the effort to study and apply their teaching for yourself if you want to learn anything.
A Master is the living embodiment of Divine truth, and the living embodiment of their teaching, which are one and the same. They have found the way to God-realization and have demonstrated this for others to follow.
A Disciple is more than just a student. A Disciple is someone who has dedicated themselves to living the path given by their Master, and who, as a result of their outstanding faith, devotion, and hard work, has been able to extend the work of their Master for the benefit of others.
As a Disciple you may even begin to express the attributes of your Master: fearlessness in the face of ridicule; industriousness in the face of apathy; and enlightenment in the face of ignorance, to name just a few.
You become a better person in all ways – because you become a better expression of your Master’s shining spirituality and of the God-like potential within yourself.
In the West people have often associated Discipleship with Jesus, but it is actually an ancient spiritual tradition, and one that exists throughout the galaxy and beyond…
