In this podcast, the Accord Team, Rebecca and Naomi, look at how we can compare ourselves to others and this can sometimes lead to envy and jealousy. Comparing ourselves to others can be a positive thing, but it is all dependent on our heart position and what we do with that comparison. When we see things in others that we like, we can take that to God and ask Him to do that work in us to so that it then becomes something authentic that has roots and can grow. The truth is that from where we are standing the grass might look greener over there, but when we go and examine that grass we can find that it is not as good as it looked. When we compare ourselves to each other in a negative way, we forget about the work that God is doing in us and we lose the connectivity to that. It all comes down to an issue of identity where we can stand in a position of contentment in our own identity and look at someone else's garden and admire it rather than covet it and wish that it was ours.
