In September we are focusing on Financial Stewardship...becoming great stewards who manage, multiply, and greatly increase all that God has entrusted to us.
 This week we are going to focus more on the multiplication aspect of stewardship. An important part of multiplying is multiplying our abilities to help, serve, and earn more. And the best way I have found to do this is to find a mentor. Find someone who is skilled in what you want to do and go learn from them. You can read their books, take their courses, spend time with them, or even work with them. This used to be the way people learned skills, they were mentored by actually doing the work with someone who knew how. 
In today's communion we are asking God to help us multiply our abilities and if needed open doors of opportunity with mentors. 
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
The evening of September 25th is the Feast of Trumpets and starts the 10 Days of Awe. During this time every year I do a 10 day Daniel Fast. While doing the Daniel Fast if for some reason you get off track, just get right back on track. There have been times when I've been doing the Daniel Fast and while eating at another person's house, they served something that wasn't on the plan. In those cases, I don't say anything about it and eat what is served. Then I get right back on track with the next meal.
