In this ThatITShow podcast that's going to become a regular feature, we discuss cloud technology in situations in which people in IT management ("Excel managers"), who only seem to care about some CAPEX/OPEX distribution of IT finances are pushing using cloud as a be-all-end-all solution for everything. We discuss some general use cases and go through a demo to show that using cloud is not in any way simple (a lot of those people tend to oversimplify that fact), and that it can also be a problem for long-term company strategy. We use Azure as an example to discuss one of the most commonly used procedures - to create a virtual machine. The aim here is not to pick on Azure as a bad cloud solution - it's more of an "introduction to cloud reality" - if you want to do this properly, creating a VM in cloud isn't "tree mouse clicks away", as a lot of people seem to think.
