Listen "The Living Arts: The Future of Learning"
Episode Synopsis
Slides
and MP3
Audio of my talk today at the University of
Guelph. The title is derived from my walking tour yesterday
of Mississauga, a tour that led me to the Living Arts
Centre. I used this as a metaphor for a picture of
education as immersion in what might be called real-world
activities, showed how game based learning and workflow
learning are steps in this direction, and explained how the
mechanisms of content syndication and e-portfolios, as
described in Scott Wilson's recent talk, are the mechanisms
that make this possible. Sorry about the size of the
PowerPoint (7 meg) - I need to reduce the size of some of
the photos I took in Mississauga. (mpeg) By Stephen Downes,
